laptop/notebook/netbook Idea

Alright, here's the new Amazon Kindle DX.

Ok,... so this device has built-n evdo (3G wireless capabilities), an accelerometer, 4GB of memory,... etc...
All this in a device that's as thin as a pencil and about as large as a sheet of paper (10.4*7.2).

And,... we also have pretty decent touchscreen technology (iPhone/touch) out there. So how come there isn't a laptop/notebook/netbook/whatever computer the same size w/a touchscreen capabilities (and color since the kindle only uses 16shades of grey), and I'd actually say a virtual keyboard too... Maybe. The Kindle has a qwerty at the bottom. looks ok but i doubt you could speed type on it.
Now add bluetooth, wiFi, up the HD space and I'm sure it would sell just a much as that airbook apple put out.
Now price it around $800 - $1000 (the Kendle DX is ~$500) and you'd make a killing!

  1. Ok, so, yea,... the iPad is about to come out... it looks sweet! Buuuut, its still using the iphone OS. That's means its not equivelent to a note/net book. Can I write programs on it? Can I upload my songs, movies, apps that haven't been prescreaned thru iTunes? I think not. Oh,... oh,... what about multitasking? Can I have pandora running n the back ground while I type out a php script and upload it to my server?... doubt it.
Damn. It was such a coold device too.
    - this sent from my G1.
