Why I got the G1 and scrap'd the iPhone...

Ok, this is the main reason (ok, one of the main reasons) why I switched from the iphone to the g1...
...about to leave work and I downloaded an audiobook, mp3 format, (it could have been music, doesn't matter) and copied it to the micro SDcard on the G1 and listened to it on the way home! (Just put it into it's own folder, copy that folder and that is the album folder on the G1)

With the iphone I would have had to, First, install iTunes; Second, authorized the "work" computer ( I already have 5 personal computers authorized, that's the max ); Third, copied the mp3's into itunes; Fourth, sync w/the phone... then, THEN I'd be able to listen...

Cool hats

When corporations/networks become more powerful then the government...

Yea, they already are but this is just a little more public and in your face:

Fox won't air Obama's prime-time press conference

(CNN) – Fox Broadcasting Company announced Monday it will not carry President Barack Obama's prime time press conference marking his first 100 days in office, the first time a broadcast network has refused an Obama administration request for that valuable airtime.

The network will instead carry its regularly scheduled episode "Lie to Me," according to its Web site. The show is among the network's most popular and draws an average of 13 million viewers a week. That compares to the relatively paltry 4.2 million who watched the president's last prime-time press conference on Fox....

Netiquette

flttr... N Ur Brain!

Flutter

the next thing in twitter

Ok, so I'm sure if this has already been thought of yet or has already been done...
But here's the next big twitter thing... First, let me say I don't twitter, don't even care for it (yet I'm typing a blog...), I'd rather just send a txt. Anyway...

A serial killer twittering their actions, all the way from the first sighting of the mark, the first stalking attempts, the pursuing, to the first knife thrust, the last, then death.

Yea, that will probably be done in the next big horror flix too. (Hey, copyright, right here, I'll take $100K after taxes, thank you)

G1 vs iPhone

I had an iphone... now I just purchased the G1 (Google phone)...
I have to say I didn't realize how much I missed an actual keyboard till i had one again. And since the G1 has about as many apps as the iphone, I was able to quickly find all the apps I use, for the G1. But, I was bummed out that the G1 didn't have a vitual keyboard as apart of it's general apps. When I want to send a quick "ok" sms response I have to slide open to the keyboard and use two hands (thumbs)... Then slide it back. What about when Ur driving?... Damn, that sucks :-)
But there's a pretty good app "ChompSMS" that mimics the iphones sms app... Yes it displays the stupid "message bubbles" - damn they take up sooo much screen space! Bad idea.
But, chompSMS, does give you several options to change... mainly the color of the stupid bubbles and the backgound, to name a couple. Also, and this kicks the iphone's a$s... if you turn the phone the keyboard turns too!!! Booyah! Now just give an option to switch off those stupid bubbles!

Now, I will say that the iphone's screen is a bit larger and it's browser (Safari) is better then G1's standard browser. I've only tried one other, which really sucked on the G1. I really like the way Safari initially displays web pages and allows double taps to focus on specific paragraphs, pictures, and/or columns.

The overall touchscreen responsiveness of the iphone is better and smoother then the G1. But for me that's ok.

I have more to say but I'm tired now. be back later.
